Bio
I started photography in grade school making pinhole cameras and processing in my dad's darkroom. My dad had a killer BW darkroom in our basement and my grandfather owned two photo labs where I learned photo processing techniques. I started photographing professionally in 1983 and have had cameras in my hand ever since. I have had my own studio and lab processing c-41, E6 and BW. My passion is architectural and panoramic photography. I started stitching panos before digital cameras, scanning negs and processing using apples authoring studio. One day I was photographing a property and was mesmerized by a lighting fixture that was producing some interesting values and texture. I spent 15 minutes doing a photographic study on the light and really got into it. Now I have folders with thousands of light fixtures and more.
My self portrait represents my frustration with clients that do ot appreciate photography well done. Have you ever done a photosession where you captured an image that moved you only to be told "but he is not looking at the camera and there is no smile!"
