Professor Mevludin Hasanović, MD, PhD

Professor Hasanović is neuropsychiatrist, subspecialist of social psychiatry and group analyst. Born in Brčko 1958. He graduated on the Sarajevo University School of Medicine (1982). He completed Specialization and Postgraduate study at the Zagreb and Tuzla Universities. At the University of Tuzla he obtainedhis Master (2003) and PhD academic degree and associate professorship (2009). He teaches in University of Tuzla on Medical School and on Educational and Rehabilitational School, also on University of Zenica, School of Social Pedagogy. He is one of founders of Tuzla users’associations: „Fenix“, „Nada (Hope)“ and „Stećak“. Member of Editorial board of journals “Acta Medica Saliniana” and “Acta Medica Academica”, „Journal of Neurology & Stroke“. Secretary of 6th International Congress of World Islamic Association for Mental Health (WIAMH), 1999, Tuzla, BH. General Secretary of the 3rd Congress of Psychiatry Association in Bosnia and Herzegovina with International Participation 2012 in Tuzla, BH. The professional title “Primaries” acquired 1994. President of Tuzla Canton Psychiatry Association (2011-2016) and President of Association of EMDR therapoists in Bosnia and Herzegovina (2013-), also he is Secretary of Association for Integrative Medicine in Bosnia and Herzegovina (2014-). Awarded with second Prizes for the best scientific paper published in 2005, 2006 and 2012/2013 year in University Clinical Center Tuzla. He is graduated Group Analyst and Educator of Group Analysis, also he is an European Accredited EMDR Practicioner and Consultant. He published more than 200 scientific and professional papers in the field of psychiatry and mental health care in the International Journals, Congress publications and as book chapters in the national and international books and textbooks. He is a co-editor of one book and guest co-editor of the Journal Psychiatria Danubina 24(suppl. 3). He established medical assisted treatment of heroin addicts with buprenorphine+naloxone (Suboxone) method in BH. He coordinates education in Eye Movements Reprocessing and Desensitisation (EMDR) education in BH. He coordinated several international research projects in coopeation with Oslo University, Norway; Örebro University Hospital, Sweden; Kingston University, Canada; EMDR HAP UK&Ireland, Missouri University, Columbia, Missouri, USA.
As a painter he had several collective and individual authors’ exhibitions in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Brčko, Belgrade and Visoko art galleries. He published several cartoons in Belgrade journals: Mladost 1984, Dinar 1985, Duga 1987. The journal Dinar was forbidden after only one, the first issue, published on 01.04.1985 because, the political communistic regime in former Yugoslavia censured speech freedom. Nowadays he is publishing his digital phothos.
