I am a lifelong photographer, inspired by Ansel Adams. My favorite subjects are landscapes, particularly the mountains of the American West. I have been a director of motion pictures, a composer of music, and a writer of quips. For the past quarter century, I have been a teacher of writers, having co-created the Dramatica theory of story structure. Lately, I have been consulting with the private and public sectors on narrative theory, analysis and application. As I near traditional retirement age, I am edging toward spending more time with my art and less with my science.
