Bio
I got my first camera ( Kodak Instamatic) when I was 8 years old. I took pictures of everything!
As I got older I took Photography in High School for 3 years; developing and printing my own film, later I took photography in college.
My father was a commercial artist, working with photographers a lot and would have me go with him to do shoots. They did Stills all the time and I watched and learned...
One photographer in Los Angeles gave me 5 original Ansel Adams poster shots after talking to Mr. Adams about me, they were from Mr. Adams because I liked to shoot Black and White. That was like Christmas 10 times over!
As I got older I found I was busy with working and starting to raise a family, leaving little time for my own pleasures, naming, Photography.
By this time I had 2 Minolta Cameras with lenses (film) and alike. I was able to take a couple of college Photo Classes when I was about 35 yrs old to "Practise" my skills. The instructor ask, "Why are you taking this class, you are very good!" I told him, "that way I can use the dark room." He laughed. We worked together on doing Portraits, something I really did not like in the first place. I told him I was more into "OUTSIDE STUFF"!
I enjoy Landscape and Scenic probably the most, however I like to shot people on the streets as well.
Since then, once again I had little time for my passion.
As my jobs changed and becoming somewhat disabled I eventually came to the career I now enjoy! Traveling is one thing I have always wanted to do and that dream has come true.
I have also made the transition from film to digital, retired my old cameras and all and expanded into the Digital Photography Age!
Since my new career started I have Gone Back To School, Photography. Back to reading and learning again, watching and looking at examples, trying techniques, lenses, lighting and so on. I feel like I can never learn enough about my life-long-passion, to improve on a constant basis, to become better than I am...
With "Digital" it is easy to experiment with my shots and not "worry" about wasting film. I can take multiple shots, if they are bad I learn from it and Delete It.
I use a Basic Editing program - I learned to get the shot right the first time, you had to with film!
As long as I can hold a camera I will continue to Enjoy My Passion...
