Thus, with almost no resources, photographer Tina Gomes, 44, who lives in a housing complex in Cidade Tiradentes, a suburban neighborhood in São Paulo, produces portraits of common people as a form of artistic expression and therapy.

With depression, she was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. The constant self-mutilation attacks meant that she had to be hospitalized. With that, Tina Gomes' light was off for two years.The photographer signed a contract to mentor the “Canonzeiras Women of Brazil” community, which currently has 10,000 members on Facebook, in addition to giving face-to-face workshops to Canon Professional Services (CPS) members
