Michael Cress Media Productions began with the Style and Fashion blog, the “New York Sartorialist” in 2009. The blog skyrocketed to over 30,000 followers in the first two years. A blend of editorial writing and rich photography highlighted that “Style Has A Story”. Content included biographical profiles, opinion pieces varying from the health of models to lessons in timeless style, designer interviews, runway shows and “Seen on the Street” views of NYC and London. Once voted as “Facebook’s 50 Most Influential People”, media outlets brought Michael in to write columns and articles as well as photography. The website was also used as an outlet for republishing the photojournalism, editorial columns, runway show photography, biographical sketches and location destinations that have greatly influenced fashion and style over the centuries, such as Savile Row. The combination of prose and professional photography is an editor’s dream. Lifestyle magazines found the content to be ideal as well a variety of other print and digital publishers. Over time, photography took on fine art which individuals and companies purchase limited edition prints, commissioned digital and print pieces. After publishing a photo of a very historical 100+ year old building in Manhattan, the owners were kind enough to reach out to say it was the finest image of the building they’d seen in a century of photographs. A humbling compliment. The work has continued on in fine art. Modeling and product photography remains popular. For corporate clients, a newer genre of professional profiles with the NYS biographical feel is gaining popularity. Combining more personal/professional essays with lifestyle photos leave costumers feeling they know who they’re working with better than ever.
