I am a freelance photographer and visual storyteller based in Mechanicsburg, PA. My areas of interest include nature, landscape, and documentary photography. Since 1984, my primary vocation has been in the IT field; for the past 24 years, I have worked as a Tier II Helpdesk Support Technician and Mac MDM system administrator at Messiah University in Mechanicsburg, PA. However, my true passion is in creating inspiring and thought-provoking photos.
Since 2005, I have practiced a wide variety of photographic genres including macro photography, landscape & nature photography, sports photography, and documentary photography. My work has won a regional grand prize, been featured in online and print articles, and appeared on audio CD covers. I especially enjoy working in B&W, but I will not pass up an opportunity to capture life in color, especially during the golden hours of the morning or evening.
We live in a world where negativity often overshadows the good. My goal as a photographer is to capture the good in this world, be it in the beauty of a landscape or the faces of others, and share it to encourage others. I want my pictures to tell a story about what is good, what is worth protecting, what is worth valuing. I believe, if a person can tip the scales of their daily intake toward the positive and the good, their attitude toward life and daily contributions to society can and will change for the better, and the world around them will benefit, heal, and improve. Ultimately, it is my hope that through my photos people will not only see the good but also feel inspired by it to be the good in their sphere of influence.
I post regularly on my Facebook and Instagram feeds. I am also on LinkedIn. Please feel free to connect with me on any of those platforms or use the form on my Contact page at CraigDouglasGephart.com, even if it's just to say "Hello!" I enjoy hearing from anyone who appreciates my photos, has questions, or would like to discuss hiring me. I especially enjoy hearing from those who would like to share about how my work has inspired them to "be the good". While I don't often do contract work (although that may change once I retire from my current vocation), I am also open to discussing projects where my talents and passions would be a good fit for the project.
