"A Canvas is painted with colours, a photo is painting with light". For the past 25 years I have gained immense experience in painting with light. In this journey, roaming with my camera hanging over my shoulder, I enjoyed thoroughly all the efforts of this drawing and painting.
In those early days, books on photography bought from the streets of South Mumbai were my true Gurus. During my youth in Alibaug, with my like-minded friends together learnt the art of photography. Various photography fundaments and various camera models and gear were the frequent topics of discussion among us.
After training for a certificate course in Photography at Sir J J Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai my competence in portrait, fashion and commercial photography had been enriched. At this very institute, I learned the art of storytelling with a single image on celluloid.
In the past two decades, I had done extensive trekking in the mountain ranges of Sahyadri and the Himalaya. The consistent practice of Nature Photography in these mountains has guided me on effectively using sunlight as a tool for lifelike photographs. I became fond of nature and started using images for spreading awareness for the conservation of nature.
A one year course on the Biodiversity Conservation from the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) strengthened my foundation on this subject. While roaming in the mountains I had keenly observed the cultural heritage of the local folks. It triggered an urge in me to take up architectural photography and digital documentation of folk art, music and dance.
One fine day this habit of painting with the light for still images lead me into creating moving images. Late Mr. Akashananda, Station Director of Mumbai Television gave me an insight into the making of Ad film, documentary films and television production. He taught me the art of story-telling with help of moving images.
I realised that moving images with narration and music is a good tool for creating a long lasting impact on the minds of the masses. Thus I ventured into production of Ad & Corporate films, documentary films on Nature & Adventure Sports along with Still Photography.
My style of painting with light was and still is well appreciated and I received many awards. With a big timeline of experience and learning I have now ventured into the field of Commercial Photography and am committed to provide top of the line results.
