My photographic career spans more than 36 years. I began my career as a black and white darkroom technician after completing the photojournalism program at College of The Canyons in Valencia, California. I was hired by the Newhall Signal Newspaper as a staff photographer and worked my up to Photo Editor before leaving to join the Los Angeles Bureau of the Associated Press as a stringer. While working with the Associated Press I was hired as a lineman with Pacific Bell and in 2001 I decided it was too hard to work all day with Pacific Bell and nights with the AP so I left the AP and continued to work with Pacific Bell until I retired in January of 2018.
I continued to photograph while with Pacific Bell and in 2016 I formed Kevin Karzin Photography LLC. Today I work mainly in the studio, shooting food, products and still life. My love for photojournalism still exists and I routinely photograph sporting events for the local paper and television station.
My current client list includes: The City of Santa Clarita, SCVNews.com, The Signal Newspaper, St. Jude Hospital, The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA), Hot Rod Magazine and Car Craft Magazine.
