My name is Gerardo Sánchez, I was born in a little city, Murcia (Spain) in the mid 60's. Since my childhood, my attention was focused on photography and illustration, I spent hours looking at the photographs of the encyclopedias that were around the house and the magazines that always my father brought his long work trips. The black and white television of that time, I discovered the pop aesthetic of the 60s that unquestionably made a dent in my retina.
My father used to let me take photos of our vacations with only 5 years old, in those moments, I knew every time I had a camera in my hands that "it was that, what I wanted to do when I was older".
Later in my adolescence I went through different stages, I went to the institute where I made contact for the first time with the development and black and white photography while I used to read with avidity the Photo Professional Spain magazine that was always at home since they were subscribed My older brothers, among those pages I discovered among other great photographers Helmut Newton, who captivated me without remission.
I also practiced sports and did my little "bolos" as a drummer for some amateur pop-rock groups, something that I combined with my work in a small family serigraphy business and articles related to framing.
After a military break of 15 months in the Navy, I returned to my city and started working in a large advertising company as an account executive and at that moment, I left my dream a little behind the scenes but started to get to know the business from within, with time parallel to my work I began to train as a photographer and illustrator, something that I have not done yet until today.
