Elizamar Martinez is a student of digital photography at the Art Institute of California, Los Angeles. Elizamar left her home town Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 17 to pursue her dreams of becoming a fine art photographer. During her first three months in Los Angeles she received the opportunity to photograph at LA Fashion week. She entered one of the images that she took that night to a photography exhibition being curated by Britt Salvesen, Curator and head of the Wallis Annenberg Photography Department at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). After a one night reception in April the exhibition went on to display throughout 2014 at five of the top advertising agencies in our area. This exhibition also made it as in installation in this year’s Photo LA Fair. Elizamar also has experience as a fashion photographer! She has worked very closely with Karl Kani on his 2014 fall collection. At the beginning of this year she scored a photography internship for Tamar Braxton’s clothing line. Aside of all these great experiences Elizamars most recent success was having a photographic pieces digitally displayed at The Louvre museum in Paris, France this month of July thanks to See me Group’s Exposure competition that takes place yearly. Extremely open minded Elizamar hopes to spread messages worldwide utilizing both her talents photography and spoken word. She believes her generation needs to be reminded that there’s more to life than comfort, that the more risks we take are what bring us closer to our purpose in this time space reality.
