I shoot film when I can, but circumstances generally relegate me to iPhone status, although I have a lot of fun with that.
I am disabled and I cannot do day-to-day work, so I shoot what I can when I can. My background is in fine art, and I for my own purposes, I care very little about professional photographic trends and what everyone else is doing. It's not that I don't appreciate the beautiful work that the pros and serious amateurs do (on the contrary -- I very much do); it's just not what I do.
I understand the basics of technique, but I would rather break all the rules and get interesting results. A roll of film with rips and weird light leaks is fascinating to me. On the other hand, sometimes I feel like producing some very conservative images. It's all dependent on my mood and what camera I am using as well.
This site is maybe not the best place for me, but I am looking for an alternative to Flickr. Speaking of which, I have two Flickr sites, the older of which is at https://www.flickr.com/photos/dorothygray/ and the newer is at https://www.flickr.com/photos/ibkc1966/ .
