Dennis Cox is an award-winning travel and location photographer for magazines, books, corporate publications, and advertising. He has photographed in over one hundred thirty countries and territories on all seven continents and all 50 U.S. states, and has specialized in photographing China with over 50 trips there since 1976.
He has been a regular contributor to such magazines as Midwest Living, Forbes, Information Week, and U.S. News & World Report, and to the publications of several corporations. His stock photos have appeared in hundreds of publications worldwide including GEO, LIFE, Travel Holiday, Travel & Leisure, Islands, National Geographic Traveler, and Hemispheres. As the director of Photo Explorer Tours, Dennis led photo tours to China since 1981 and to many other photogenic world destinations since 1996. His stock photography has been marketed worldwide through Alamy, Getty Images, TimeLife Picture Library, and others agencies. He also markets his images through his own stock agency, ChinaStock / WorldViews, with images searchable through the viewing portal AGPix.com. Currently the Official Photographer and occasional writer for AllThingsCruise.com, he also has his own fashion collection as a designer for shopVIDA.com, and markets custom designed travel posters and prints at FineArtAmerica.com.
As a long-time member of the Society of American Travel Writers, Dennis was SATW's Travel Photographer of the Year for 1997. He was also runner-up for that honor in 1998, 1999, and 2006, as well as placing third in 1996. In 1984 his portfolio on China in the annual Minolta Mirror magazine won an 'Award of Excellence' from Communication Arts.
