With my Nikon D3300 (Died in september 2017 and since then the Nikon D5200) and D3100 I try to get as much as I can on photo, I don't use Lightroom or any other expensice program to edit the photo's, the only program I use as less as possible is Photoscape. So basically, most photo's are as they are made the moment they were shot....
